Trip description

Hands on experience where you learn how to ride a horse. Experienced guides will teach you and tell you all about our horses. The trek you go on is our Cowboys adventure in the mountain farmers’ land, which is described more on our website.

The trek lasts for about 3 hours total, and takes you through beautiful landscapes in the foothills of the famous Jotunheimen Nation Park; home of the Giants and Trolls.

The bus tour from Oslo is an adventure in itself. Starting from the urban landscape in Oslo City gradually up towards the high mountains in the valleys of Valdres, and finally arriving in the quaint mountain village of Beitostølen.

The price includes a visit to our horse farm where you can meet all of our animals, a horseback ride, transportation, and food during or after the horse ride.

Daily departure from Oslo Bus Terminal in the morning at 08:40. Arriving back in Oslo at 22:09. The bus tour takes about 3.5 hours each way.

Feed and care for the animals

If you love all kinds of animals, or have very small kids who enjoy cuddling, feeding and petting them, we can arrange this activity for you. You’ll get to meet our rabbits, baby goats, lambs, pigs, cats, dogs, miniature horses and pick your own free-range eggs to bring home. This is a great activity whatever the weather, as in the case of bad weather we can run this as an indoor activity.

Share de experience!

If you want to share this experience with your family or friends, but unsure whether riding is for you, instead of riding you can join the trip by foot, and take part in the other activities as normal.

Good to know

Our experienced guide will give your child a basic introduction on how to start, stop and steer the horse, before heading out on the trip. Older children and/or those with some experience and adults, can ride alone. However young children and inexperienced riders will have someone to lead their horse. This can be either a trek assistant or a parent. Parents will get an introduction on how to lead the horse safely. If you want to ride yourself but would like one of our trek assistants to lead your child’s horse, please remember to book this in advance.

Stay longer?

This package is arranged so you can depart and return to Oslo the same day. But why not stay a few more days to explore the Norwegian mountains? There are many more activities to do in the area as well as breathtaking nature to discover.

Stay with us on our farm and we will be happy to help you find the activities you want. Other popular activities include Husky Cart Safari, hiking along Besseggen, cheese making on a mountain farm, pack rafting and many more. Or if you want to experience a unique exotic overnight tour we suggest Exploring Huldras Kingdom. An exciting adventure for everyone, riding deeper into the mountains and the land of the Trolls.
